The tulip is not the national flower of the Netherlands

You might think that while the flower is not native to the Netherlands, the tulip is the national flower of the country. But it is not and for a very long time there was no national flower at all. Only in 2023 a flower was chosen, and it is the common daisy.

That the little white flower with a yellow heart was chosen is typically Dutch. For the Dutch it is the little things that matter. The little things that you only notice when you pay attention and then come to love.
